Audley End House, was one of the great wonders of the nation when it was built by the first Earl of Suffolk, Lord Treasurer to King James I. It was on the scale of a great royal palace.. What remains is one of the most significant Jacobean houses in England. This design is inspired by the wonderful interior decorations and collections of oraments and furnishing to be found at Audley End which includes stunning embroidery, needlepoint, and cross stitch.
